Modat Magnify: Full Autocomplete and New Search Capabilities

Full autocomplete across all search types, expanded SSH search, banner hash search, stable HTTP fingerprinting, and more: here's what's new in this Modat Magnify release.

Modat Magnify: Full Autocomplete and New Search Capabilities

This release focuses on search precision and speed. Here is what is new in Modat Magnify.

Full Autocomplete Across All Search Types

The biggest enhancement in this release is full autocomplete across all search types. You can now explore the entire dataset simply by typing a few characters; Modat Magnify instantly suggests fields, protocols, SSH algorithms, banner types, hashes, SAN fields, and more. This makes search significantly faster and removes the need to remember every field name.

Autocomplete now extends into the full depth of SSH data. Ciphers, MACs, host keys, fingerprints, and key-exchange algorithms are all surfaced as suggestions, making it easier to build precise SSH queries without referencing documentation.

You can now search non-web banners using mmh3, SHA-1, or SHA-256. This is particularly useful for fingerprint correlation, matching hosts based on consistent banner signatures rather than raw text content.

Stable HTTP Hash Fingerprinting

Dynamic HTTP headers are now stripped before hashing. This ensures fingerprints remain consistent across scans, so you can reliably track and match hosts over time without noise from headers that change on every request.

Certificates can now be queried by their Subject Alternative Name values. Search by DNS names, IP addresses, URIs, or email addresses to gain finer control when hunting for infrastructure associated with a specific certificate profile.

New OT & Industrial Protocols

Additional operational technology and industrial protocols are now supported in Service Search, broadening Magnify’s coverage of critical infrastructure exposure.

Highlighted Matching Services

Host-level search results now highlight exactly which services matched your query. Rather than reviewing every service on a host, you can see at a glance which ones are relevant to your search, a straightforward improvement to investigation speed.

Regex Search (Business and Enterprise)

Regular expression support has been added across multiple fields. This allows you to find data based on patterns rather than exact text matches, making it easier to identify related hosts, variable naming schemes or version patterns that simple keyword searches might miss.

All features are live now. Log in to explore or reach out to the team at support@modat.io with any questions.
